Nice cafe opposite the ferry port good for a pre/post ferry refuel! Good range of sandwiches and breakfast rolls with options for vegetarians and vegans. Great range of cakes including a few different vegan options and massive portions! Lovely member of staff despite the queue. Nice to sit outside in the lovely sunshine might be a bit short on space on a more usual Scottish day! read more.

Lady who served were absolutely rude. Love support small businesses but being asked to leave my backpack outside is more than unreasonable. There were plenty of space, 3 free tables, no queues and I even suggested to put my backpack on the floor behind my legs. I left and had a lovely lunch in the sport hotel nearby. read more.

"We are at Etive last night. Undoubtedly one of the best meals I've ever had in Oban. David was such an excellent host and John was making magic in the kitchen. I was driving so David came up with an imaginative and delicious non alcoholic cocktail for me alongside my husband's negroni. The chicken liver parfait was so delicate and the squid and chorizo starter was delicious and just the right size. 2 rib eye steaks cooked exactly as we wanted them, fabulously crunchy chips and sweet ripe tomatoes in the salad. David's recommendations of wine to go with each course were spot on. What a wonderful evening, thank you."

"We had a good experience at this restaurant. The food was mostly excellent (my oysters didn't compare favorably to others I've had in the US). The fish and chips were really nicely done, crisp without being overly breaded. My companion's salmon was beautifully cooked; most and tender. And the sticky toffee pudding, my goodness it was wonderful. It loses a star for the somewhat indifferent service (it could be I'm just an anxious American) and for the oysters."
