"Loyal member of the flock. My first visit to the Blue Bird Cafe was in the 1970s when I was a kid. Each summer, Mom and Dad took me and my sisters out to visit my grandparents' cottage in the neighbouring village of Buena Vista. Every time we would have fish and chips at the Blue Bird Cafe, followed up with treat bags full of penny candy from nearby Donoval's.<br/ <br/ I've been back a few times as an adult, including this past weekend. The fish and chips are as tasty as ever! The place has a frozen-in-time charm about it, which makes it so personally endearing to me... there are not many restaurants that have operated continuously since 1929. Thanks for the many decades of happy memories!"

"While the facility looks good, the service, the price and the food strongly detract from the experience. I had the fish and chips, while the quality was good, the taste had problems. My frits were salted in the high sky and the fish was fine if not blanden. The mushroom Swiss burgers was so, and the truffle friars were evil. The staff was very nice, but there were only 1 waitress who worked on a Saturday night and because of the increased volume the waiting time remained much to wish. Definitely not worth the high price of food, but the restaurant has a lot of potential. If they repair what is going on with the kitchen and 1 more waiting staff for the busy days, they could turn it into a great restaurant. 4,5 %"

"There was like zero ice cream flavours left … it was over priced and meh for the plain chocolate they had with so many options sold out we should have got a discount. Bad won’t be back ."

"Went here for an early dinner mid week so it wasn’t very busy and we sat on the patio which had a nice view of the water. If you eat inside, it’s extremely dark- I get it for a pub but not dark in a nice way! The food took at least an hour and it was ok- simple pub food for 4 and 2 drinks for $100……"

"From the call to the pickup. The staff is patient and understanding. They will get you what you like if you ask politely. Overall time frame was good and the meal was ready fairly fast. The food we got looked healthy and colorful (stir fried rice w vegetables When we took a bite it was warm and flavorful. Also impressed by the size for the prize. They even gave us a free pop drink. "The lady said the pop machine had no ice which I was okay with. She didn't mention the pop would come out warm too. Not a great experience...unless you like hot pop."
