Ate there for the first time tonight. I ordered the 16oz Ribeye and it came out tough as leather. Service was very friendly. They didn’t charge me for the steak. A gem in a small town. The BEST onion rings. Everything we had was wonderful. Great music selection, iowa rustic decor, and fantastic food. Two thumbs up, way up. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was my wife mines first time at Spencer's Chophouse Tavern. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated right away. Our waitress was pleasant and took our drink order and returned with our drinks right away. Our food order was taken shortly after, when we were ready, and we received our food in a timely manner. My soup, beef stroganoff, was a tasty starter. I had the 16oz Italian Ribeye. My steak was easily the full 16oz and cooked perfectly. The fries were a delicious side. I did indulge and order a piece of the oatmeal pie. I would recommend saving room for this pie; it was amazing. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I appreciated that the music was at a volume that could be heard, but was quiet enough to have a conversation at a normal speaking voice. The lighting is darker than most places, but I liked it once I adjusted to it. I highly recommend Spencer's Chophouse Tavern. We are definitely coming back when we are back in the area.
