What johnny doesn't like about Restaurant des Familles:
I ordered the Crayfish Etouffee and it not very good. It resembled gumbo in that there was no thickness to the dish. It was more like soup. The onion rings were fantastic. They ended up being my main dish. The service however was fantastic. View all feedback. What Stephanie Tjebben likes about Restaurant des Familles:
Gorgeous view of the bayou and the surprise visit from a raccoon was exciting to see. Alligator stuffed mushrooms and Onion rings for apps were AMAZING! Grey Goose Cosmo was delicious! Crab Cakes Lafitte, Chicken and Sausage Gumbo and Loaded Potatoes Au Gratin did not disappoint either. Definitely on our list for repeat dinner dates! View all feedback.

Another group of diners were hoping for a scenic outdoor brunch but found disappointing food quality and frozen desserts. However, there were positive experiences as well, with patrons praising the seafood dishes, wine selection, and ambiance. Despite the ups and downs, many diners expressed a willingness to return and enjoy the restaurant's offerings again.
Food was slow to come and very bland. The waitress showed up about every 20 mins. The bread pudding desert was abysmal. The only thing that was ok was the view.
A hidden culinary gem of New Orleans Bayou. Great place for dinner after the swamp tour. Group friendly.
Beautiful experience, as always. Great food and service. I’ve come here for years.
We love the 5 course brunch with the bottomless mimosa sitting at a table next to the bayou!
