What Eileen Gutmann doesn't like about Cafe Max Eatery Tap:
they transformed a wonderful little restaurant into a total catastrophe. the small countertop is gone. replaced by an oversized bar that is hardly used. they seem to try to compete with the corndance, but have failed. eating in the free is a sweat. they ring a bell. make them sweat. what they did best (everyday.) We had a great run here, it was the first time that it tried. the food was delicious and the prices were very reasonable
Although the service and food quality is excellent, thepancakes were grainy and the shrimp tacos should have had the spicy sauce served on the side to let you adjust the flavor heat to your liking.
Without a question the place to be for breakfast in Culver. Other meals are good for breakfast as where it shines. The only downside I’ve experienced is that they can get overwhelmed and thus slow.
Great food, great atmosphere and a very friendly and attentive waiting staff. Regardless of the meal and the time of the day, we were never disappointed with food...
For 33 years, Cafe Max has always been one of our favorite stops in Culver. As a camper/CGA student/Culver resident and last as CMA.
