Small local pub that has recently been refurbished. Pleasant landlady and a compact but nice beer garden. Bit oflf history over and across from the pub make it a worthwhile detour. Didn't try the food but would do next time Price per person: £1–10 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 read more.

What Alicia1568 doesn't like about The Old Palace:
Have been to this pub twice recently and both times the bar staff seem like they really don’t want to serve you. Not friendly or welcoming and like everything is a hassle for them. The bar snacks read nicely on the menu but to me seemed like they were straight out of packets and jars, served with a bit of lettuce (straight out of a packet). Shame as it’s a great looking little place but we won’t be returning. read more.
