The small plates are generous and well-presented, providing great value for money. Despite some inconsistencies like undercooked salmon and lackluster salads, the warm and competent service and cozy atmosphere make it a great location for special occasions. The lemon ravioli appetizer is a must-try, and the service, especially from attentive staff like Trinie, adds to the overall positive dining experience. While some mishaps occurred, Dana's remains a solid choice for those looking for quality food in a welcoming atmosphere.
Very bad experience. It started with and mater d telling us we did not have a reservation. When I showed him the confirmation email on my phone He indicated there was nothing he could do and then put us in the very corner of the bar area. Hilario, our server was great. The steak that I ordered was very overcooked but since I was also having lobster I didn’t want to take the extra time and let lobster cool off. Lobster was very good. So other than our service it was a very negative experience. Even though the restaurant is in a great location and very close to our home, Dana’s won’t be seeing us again for a long time
Unfortunately had a bad experience at Dana's. They said the cook and prep person called in sick. They knew there were issues but at the end of the night they served poor food that took way too long. We let the server know but although he provided as good service as he could, he should have made the situation right as we told him the food was unacceptable. We passed on desert and coffee as we had enough and it was already a bit late due to the long wait for the main courses. Not sure if i would go back as I just blew a lot of money and disappointed a guest. This was not the first time i have been to Dana's
I know a restaurant cannot control its clientele, but the evening we were there, a large group about was extremely noisy and kept us from having a unified conversation we were six until they left. We were disappointed as at our last group dinner at Metro in Lafayette, the noise level was terrible, and we finally asked to move to another room for our dessert. That time there was a noisy group of about ten women. We do not want to stay home, but this gregarious behavior in a public place is inappropriate. Otherwise, I would go to the restaurant again
The food was excellent it our server was not on task. We had to ask for everything. It it was my first visit to Dana’s I would not come back
First, I wish Open Table reviews would publish with the paragraph separation as I originally wrote. But when I looked, all the text was smooshed together in one very long paragraph, so I've edited and inserted " " where a new paragraph should begin. Now on to the review of Dana's. I've enjoyed many meals at Dana's in the past, and in the past would have given them at least a star review overall. I'll still recommend Dana's to friends, with a few caveats based on our recent dining experience on Sunday, Jan We chose seats close to the open kitchen because it was warmer there, but that was a mistake. Beyond normal kitchen level noise that we've heard in the past, people working in the kitchen were talking VERY loudly, and there was a lot of banging of pots andor pans, as well as dishes. It was loud to the extent that I needed to stand up and look at the people in the kitchen with the hopes of their noticing that we were sitting right there, and afterward the noise level moderated a bit. If we go again on a Sunday night, we will be sure to make a reservation closer to Perhaps Dana's should not accept reservations at as ours was accepted for that time. It was only when we received a later confirmation call were we told that the kitchen closes at Realizing this, we ate our meals quickly and did not linger. But apparently the staff was eager to go elsewhere that night, because as we were waiting quite a while for our check, they turned off the lights in the dining area and we were sitting there in the dark until we called out. Our server apologized and turned some lights back on again in our area and provided us with our check. As I said at the beginning of this review, I'll still recommend Dana's to friends, with the few caveats noted above
