My wife and I had previously visited en route to Yorkshire and it was great, so we repeated the trip for Friday lunch. Easy online booking but plenty of room anyway. Comfortable, dog-friendly bar if a bit chilly but staff were trying to get the real fire going. Staff were all very friendly and efficient. Oldy worldly interior is very quaint and spacious apparently an old farmhouse. We checked the menu and after the obligatory 10 mins I went for home-baked pie of the day, soon to be told they were sold out! Second choice steak sandwich...on reverse of menu, sorry none left!
