"Any given day, I would rate this place above the Guru Kottureshwara hotel and Old Sagar hotel. I like the other two places as well. They use white butter and the dosaes taste a little better than the other two famous places for the crepes in the town. They have been here for decades and if I am not wrong, they belong to the very clan that pioneered the benne dosae culture, though there are 2-3 strong contenders from the same claim. These guys serve red and white chutney on alternate days. I believe that the 20rs extra you shell out for their dosaes is worth it for the white butter and better chutney. The place is too small and at times, you might have to wait to get a seat or eat standing. But who complains? The taste and the quality of the food they serve makes up for the lack of ambience."

"This is about Apoorva restaurant near the new bus stand. Its quite near to highway. One has to enter the city, and avoid the bypass. More of South Indian. Nice thali meals, both South and North, especially North Indian. South Indian is not bad. Very moderately priced. South Indian thali at 120. North Indian for 155. Only thing, the famous _Davangere benne dose was not available at 12 pm. Ambience very good. Nice sitting arrangement. Adequate parking. Recommended."
