"Came here for lunch with my husband and two kids during a recent stay at The Ranch. The buffet was very disappointing. It consisted of a very pathetic and underwhelming salad bar, and the main course area consisted solely of Shepherds Pie (which my husband said was not bad), pulled pork (which I thought was ok), Mac n cheese (which was not good, even the kids did not like it), beans, and grilled veggies. For the price I was hoping there would be greater variety. I would not eat here again and wished we drove the 20 min to Stovepipe Wells again and ate at the restaurant there cheaper, greater variety, and tasted way better."

"Last night we had a dried out “Mexican” buffet. Pretty accurate for Death Valley , but not if you want to have an ok dinner. The worst buffet I’ve ever had. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"An oasis in the desert in fact that’s the new name for this elegant old line National Park lodge. Just like its counterparts at Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Grand Canyon it is a must visit place. It is undergoing a renovation, which is a good thing as it was becoming shabby elegant. Drinks on the deck at sunset terrific. So is dinner outside if you can snare a table. The dining room though is historic. Service is spotty. Food is surprisingly good although pretty much National Park style. A bit on the pricey side, but it’s a long way for supplies to come. A dress code for dinner, but it is not always enforced. They should either enforce it or do away with it. Go for the experience not the food, although the food is better than you expect."

"I thought this place was gonna be horrible but man the buffet at lunch was so good!!! Excellent sweet and sour pork, succulent brisket, salad bar, dessert table. It blew my mind that's why it got a 5. I hope this wasn't just a fluke day when everything at that restaurant went right."
