We are regular visitors to George's and have always been happy with 5*review. On this occasion though we were slightly disappointed. The shop door doesn't close so we experienced an icy draft whilst waiting for the food and our plan to sit in was reconsidered. I ordered 1 small meal deal and a large. What Fufugirl1 doesn't like about George's Tradition Allestree:
Visited for takeaway small fish and chips meal deal. Not sure how it's a deal at £8.40 but anyway that's only one grumble. The main issue was the very tiny piece of fish in very soggy batter and the chips were barely warm and had obviously been cooked well in advance of our visit. Normally decent portions but over the last few visits chip butties were lacking the chips! Would assume it was a one off but no we experience it twice.

The place also offers the possibility to sit outside and be served in nice weather, and there is a eating area with chairs/tables. A counter with seating options invites you to linger.
