read moreThe Five Lamps has undergone a significant transformation under new management, which has elicited mixed reactions from patrons. While the decor improvements have been appreciated, many regulars lament the decline in service, notably feeling unwelcome and rushed. The once-celebrated cask ale has suffered in quality, and food offerings have diminished, with complaints about cold dishes and low-quality ingredients. However, some guests enjoyed vibrant gatherings and memorable events, praising the outdoor space and atmosphere. Though the pub has shifted towards catering to a younger crowd, it remains a work in progress, balancing its community roots with new expectations.
