Imagine your perfect pub restaurant: with draft beer, delicious food, attentive service, and no music, TV, or arcade games. That's exactly what you'll find at The Druid. I visited on a Saturday lunchtime without reservation and they were able to accommodate us in their bustling bar. The food was served quickly, including a delicious homemade venison stew. What C3882GDmargaretw doesn't like about Druid Inn Birchover:
15 of us went for lunch having pre-ordered our food several days earlier to avoid a delay in serving it. We were given a lovely private room but had to wait about 45 minutes for the food to arrive. The food was good but there wasn't much of it for the price. We noticed the price of a main course had increased by £2 on the price on the website.Having been told we could order our desserts on the day we were then told they were too busy to serve us and there would be a long wait.We didn't bother. The staff were friendly but we came away disappointed and still a bit hungry and embarrassed as I'd organised it for 14 other people. Nowhere near as good as when we went on New Year's Day 2024. Probably fine when it's a bit quieter.
We showed up after a rainy walk and the place was pretty busy. the staff asked if we were good to wait for them to look with the kitchen. to see if waiting times would be reasonable. there were no seats in the main area, so they opened the dining room for us, that was stunning and had beautifully sighted. we had to wait a bit before our order was taken, but the personal checked and ensured that drinks were charged. Once our order has been taken, eating came quite fast and was really delicious. since the personal was really honest and accommodating, I would go back despite the waiting time! the minted lamb pie was amazing and the portion size of the fish was amazing.
This pub was halfway on our tour of alport. the staff was very friendly and checked that everything was great. very friendly. for traditional beerbatter fish and chips. I don't usually eat mudy, but these were just great. it's the best fish and chips I've eaten for a long time. large local bier chatsworth gold helped wash the meal.

Absolute top pub with the most delicious homemade food. We stayed in Birchover for 3 nights and have come to the Druid Inn every night for drinks and food. Can't fault it at all. Staff have been so welcoming and friendly. Would highly recommend. Thanks Druid Inn.
During our holiday in Stanton Lees, we had the pleasure of dining at The Druid Inn. We were delighted to discover it was pie night on a Monday evening, and we thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional steak and stilton pie with chips and peas. The restaurant offers a variety of craft ales, soft drinks, and 0% beverages for the designated driver. There was a tempting selection of desserts, although some of us were too full from the delicious pie to try them. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to the Peaks.
