Hy-vee Fast Fresh - Des Moines

The location is convenient for me as it’s around the corner from my home. They have a decent selection of beverages and fresh foods. Surprisingly, they have a decent tenderloin sandwich. It’s better when you catch them while they’re fresh, but they are still great for being made in a convenient store. I’ve had the tenderloin sandwich from the Hy-Vee kitchen in Windsor Heights and it wasn’t nearly as good as the one from this Fast and Fresh location.

I ordered a vanilla cold foam shaken espresso from this place around 7:40 pm on Monday, July 21 2023. I’ve ordered this many times already so I knew how it should taste. What I received was the most disgusting cup of coffee I have ever drank. Simply put, it was just a cup of ice and burnt water. It was vile. There was NO espresso taste or that vanilla cold foam. The drink, if we can call it a drink considering it was not consumable, was an embarrassment to coffee and the Starbucks name. I will never order from here ever again. I’m sure the other drinks are good, but this moment in my life has traumatized me. But other than the horrible, terrible, no good, very VERY bad drink, the workers were very nice.

I THOUGHT Jose was “watching” me, but I realized within minutes that he was ACTUALLY watching my movements, because as soon as I received my breakfast, he was already headed towards the register to ring me out. THAT is customer service x 10.

Again I stopped thinking things might be better I don't know what I was thinking again the Caribou coffee one of them doesn't work there's many hot pads that are not even filled with any food I was looking for a hot cookie which all the other hyvee so this one does not everything is dirty filthy the floors gross two people behind the counter and one in the kitchen I guess it has to something to do with the fact of short employees I don't know.

Only ever stopped at this location for convenience, would rather go out of my way than ever come here again. Employee Michael just told my boyfriend that his gauged ears (which are small, but that shouldn't matter) are disgusting and they make him uncomfortable. It's 2023, gauged ears have been around FOREVER, and thinking you can comment on anyone else's body is what's actually disgusting. Will never be returning to this location, or perhaps any others if this is the type of employee and behavior that Hy-Vee endorses. Judging by some other comments this rude behavior is not out of the norm here. Just appalled.
