Hole in the wall? Dive? Call it what you want but this is a hidden gem in Des MoinesIt is totally unpretentious and perfect in its own way.
I recently came here for a business lunchIt was fine, but nothing special I had a salad with grilled chicken and the creamy house dressing.
Update! Had a great experience and service tonight. Way better than previously!! Our server was super attentive!!!

"I am very disappointed in the direction this cafe has gone now. The food is excellent but the long wait and barely 2 pieces of meat is not what I call much of a sandwich. This place has definitely gone down hill!"

"Good food, friendly staff, lovely area!! the literal only things that made me give 4 instead of 5 stars was that i wish their salads had protein options. like a vegan chicken strip or something. but the place IS called “dirt burger” so i get that people don’t go for the salads… i guess it woulda just made the menu more complete in my opinion."
