"We capped our wonderful trip to the Bauhaus in Dessau with a dinner at heilmann's because it was recommended by the Bauhaus visitor's center. when we arrived on october we stood at the entrance for along time before we got seated. we asked for...an english menu, they said they had none. we struggled with our german and asked a number of questions of the wiatress, but we couldn't understand her or make ourself understood to her. she had no patience. so she ignored us for minutes until we finally figured out a simple spaghetti and fish order. the food was good, but we were so hungry we had our heads down on the table, as we were so weak. we checked in with the bauhaus the next day, and they were very surprised, because they insisted they DO have an english menu there, they had seen it and sent people there regulary. it was a bad experience for us. if you go and can't read german food ingredients, insist on an english menu."

"This is a brand new restaurant with plenty of things to discover. Very trendy place. When this was opened-someone had an idea. A great one. Food is delicious and service is attentive. Prize wise it is probably the highest prized restaurant in the area but its great. for special occasion they offer a private room upstairs with balcony with an awesome view over the harbour of the town."
