"We were looking froward to this visit as the reviews were good and the food looked very nice. I guess they had an off night. First of all we were ushered through the lovely atmospheric restaurant and given a table in a plastic windowed extension which felt like an old people’s home. The starter was very good. Cullen skink was delicious, the hummus had a bit too much lemon but a great flavour. The various breads were a bit nondescript but OK. The mains were a complete let down. The chicken supreme was pretty ordinary roast chicken. The beef ragu in pasta came in a watery flavourless tomato wish wash and the beef was tender but again lacked any distinctive taste. The server was attentive. Some Americans came in after us and were told they had 10 minutes to order! They stayed bless them, I wouldn’t have! Worse, a couple sitting next to us had their starters order so messed up that the lady ended up not having one at all! Definitely won’t be making another visit."
