What Junior Guidry doesn't like about Grapevine Cafe' Gallery:
My family and I road today 10/15/2023 to have lunch, about a 2 hour drive. The website does not say you need a reservation for Lunch. Well we arrived at 11:40. The hostess informed we should have called and make reservations Didn’t try to her the manager an help us, just rude as hell. Never make that trip or nothing again. Don’t waste your time !!!!!! Best Dining Experience EVER!. The food was amazing! Every single thing was amazing! Started with free bread (all wanted) so fresh and tasty. Then each one cup of turtle soup and bisque, an appetizer of crab cake, duck of crust fish and roasted crust fish, (Hubby had the crabs of corn bread with a fried catfish fillet and that was with crust fish Oufe yes, it is as decadent delicious as it sounds). Not able to believe that it could be better, we had desserts of bread pudding and lemon ice cream box cake. All these courses with two drinks for only $85! I am not exaggerated when I say that everything I ate was better than I before (including my own cooking). I can't believe this place exists. I'm here for our 25-year anniversary, I want to thank you Grapevine for being so special.
Great!. Never had a bad meal or bad experience there. The food is wonderful every time! Love it, love it, love it! I recommend it to everyone who is willing to drive a bit!
This place is such a big surprise in what's left in downtown Donaldsonville. It's worth the trip. At night, the live music is great and there is always an interesting art on the walls of local artists. The food is notch; we love how the rubber bear comes with potato salad on the side. And you have to get the white chocolate bread pudding! Get it to go and they pack the sauce separately from the dessert and it is just as good when you nuke it at home.
I am a local and enjoy the food that is served at all the local resturants. but the grapevine stands out as being one of the best between baton rouge and new orleans.. the food is always great and very fresh and well seasoned. the servers are a vetern crew and work the tables well. a great place to meet and enjoy all the paintings and live music on weekends and the sunday brunch is one to enjoy and relax.
