"Coldish saturday afternoon in December. Every pub and bar in town was packed to overflowing, but this small pub, (micro pub really) sandwiched between two other pubs was quieter with spare seating. Started with a local brew, sat outside and conversed congenially with a local. Went inside for second drink. Fancied something different and asked if a wheat beer was available. The lady said no. A gent at the bar said they had Leffe if I wanted Belgian and pointed to a bottle on the shelf. Next to it I noticed a bottle of Blue Moon . I suggested this was in a wheat beer, but she was adamant it was not it was a white beer. I insisted and she inspected it and then agreed it was indeed wheat. She did apologise, but I was disappointed I had to tell her about her job. The beer was enjoyable. Did not eat, but looking at the blackboard I would say it was more light snacks than proper meals but prices looked ok."

"Visited on a cold Saturday. There used to be heaters but not anymore and it was freezing though we were offered blankets. Ordered fish, chips and mushy peas and a drink. The food was cold in less than 3 minutes. The fish was also very...over cooked (dry inside the batter). To top it off, the bill for my food was £3 more than the menu though they did knock off £2.00. I would have been better off at a chip shop and would not have spent so much. So disappointed as I was super excited to try this place."

"Westwoodside Tiny Tots Playgroup ordered a selection of sweets and savouries from Mowbrays Cafe, on the 7.3.18, as a Mother's Day treat. It was easy to communicate with them and they were flexible with the choice food and worked with our not so big budget. Food was ready for collection at agreed time. Needless to say everything was scrumptious and went down a treat. Thank you! : xx"
