"Coldish saturday afternoon in December. Every pub and bar in town was packed to overflowing, but this small pub, (micro pub really) sandwiched between two other pubs was quieter with spare seating. Started with a local brew, sat outside and conversed congenially with a local. Went inside for second drink. Fancied something different and asked if a wheat beer was available. The lady said no. A gent at the bar said they had Leffe if I wanted Belgian and pointed to a bottle on the shelf. Next to it I noticed a bottle of Blue Moon . I suggested this was in a wheat beer, but she was adamant it was not it was a white beer. I insisted and she inspected it and then agreed it was indeed wheat. She did apologise, but I was disappointed I had to tell her about her job. The beer was enjoyable. Did not eat, but looking at the blackboard I would say it was more light snacks than proper meals but prices looked ok."

"I can not recommend this amazing gourmet experience enough. The chef and his wife are knowledgeable and take time to explain every aspect of each dish and how it’s paired with the following course. Its a hidden gem in Yorkshire and in my humble opinion the best evening you could wish for. If I could rate this higher than a five star I would. Regards Terry and Kerry"

"Visited on a cold Saturday. There used to be heaters but not anymore and it was freezing though we were offered blankets. Ordered fish, chips and mushy peas and a drink. The food was cold in less than 3 minutes. The fish was also very...over cooked (dry inside the batter). To top it off, the bill for my food was £3 more than the menu though they did knock off £2.00. I would have been better off at a chip shop and would not have spent so much. So disappointed as I was super excited to try this place."

"I went in here on a whim after passing it loads of times and so glad I did! The ambience was relaxing and chilled out, many different cakes and coffees to choose from. It's at the top of town, opposite the cinema. I will definitely be back :"

"Seriously.... Don't be put off by the outside,one of the best family meals we have all had. None of us had any complaints and every one of us thoughroughly enjoyed our dinners and deserts. Catch of the day was lovely and the steaks was one of if not the best. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner"
