Call ahead before you go. It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to cook. I call and they recognize my voice. Burritos and tacos are delicious.

"Had a decent lunch here today, choosing the Thai Basil Stir Fry (medium), some Spring Rolls, and an Iced Thai Lime Tea. I wasn 't surprised to be asked if I was certain that I wanted 'medium ' spiciness and if I had tried this before. I hadn 't but I was in the mood for a little heat but wasn 't sure what to expect... so I was a bit let down when the entree wasn 't any hotter than the average medium salsa. It was a little strange to be seated right next to one of the two couples present when much of the room was empty... and I was given far too much time to look over the menu before my order was taken, there simply isn 't that many items on it and there weren 't nearly enough people in the restaurant to merit the delay. Worth checking out but maybe not if you are in a hurry."

"We as a family eat a lot of Japanese food and are a bit of connoisseurs. Ichiban is not number one as the name says, not even close. Service was bad; the lady that seated us had a horrible attitude. I almost walked out after speaking with her. The server only worked one end of the table, we had to pass everything to that side and vice versa. Food was horrible; the shumai was soft and disgusting, the tempura shrimp was not cooked through, the sushi tasted like it was left out over night, the udon noodle soup was flavorless, and the sashimi was room temperature. The only redeeming quality of this experience was the jalapeño appetizer,which was pretty good, hence the extra star. We had a large group of 8 and although I know that makes things complex for the restaurant, I expected better, especially at the ridiculously high price. If this is what people in the Midwest have to settle for when it comes to Japanese food then I truly feel sorry for them all. I would not recommend Ichiban to anyone for anything and would rather eat at Taco Bell (being the worst place I can think of) than suffer this place again."

"It has been 1 yr since our last visit to this establishment, which at the time was underwhelming. However, this most recent visit was something else entirely! We began with the fresh rolls appetizer, which were crispy and light, with an enjoyable dipping sauce. My only criticism was that they come as an order of 5, should be 4 or 6. Both our entrees of Panang Chicken Curry and Roasted Duck Curry had an amazing depth of flavor and were outstanding, with just the right amount of spice. If you try either of these dishes, as Chef Guy Fieri states, 'you 're on a road rockin trip down to Flavortown! '"

"My mom says this is one of the best pulled pork sandwiches she's ever had. The coleslaw on it was perfect since it didn't have a lot of creamy mayo. I wish I had gotten something other than the fish tacos. The fish in them wasn't the best quality and tasted pretty gross. I didn't even get through the first taco, but, thankfully, the delicious, loaded Bloody Mary I had filled me up. I'd come back to try something else if we come through Dubuque again. Very cute atmosphere in a cool old building."
