What Orla L doesn't like about Cafe Mao:
Have been meaning to go back to this Mao for a while. When I had it before, it was lovely-had a beef stir fry kinda dish. Went back last week and was quite disappointed. I had spring roles to start which were nice enough with butternut squash. But the main really let me down. I had pad thai but it wasn't great. The chicken was a bit chewy and very little of it. This is the Mao Asian kitchen right across from the east pier at Dun Laoghaire. Pictures on yelp look different, maybe they renovated recently. The food is wonderful here, as well as the service. You should definitely come here! I have no clue why this has bad reviews, the ambiance is refreshing and vibrant, and the Tom Kha soup was amazing. Kids menu had a lot of variety.
