I will start off this comment by saying I am from NY. Of all the pizza I have ever had in my life the pizza in NY is the best. With that being said this place is one of the best I've had here in Florida if not the best. A must stop in and have if your craving true NY tasting pizza. I've only been here once so I plan on going back and trying some other dishes and will post pics and ratings on those as well. View all feedback.
What Daniel Orzelek doesn't like about Umberto's Of Long Island:
I spent more than $15 on a pizza and I can't believe how chewy it was right when I got it. I've had a lot of Pizza in my life and that was the worst pizza I've ever ordered View all feedback.
Originally from NY I tend to lean towards the Mom and Pop Red Sauce Joints. Very few decent in FL but this place is a hidden gem! Food is always fresh and delicious. Great red sauce! Excellent veal, chicken and eggplant parm. Very good portions. The fried cheese and escarole with olives are fantastic. Quality salad dressed with a light house Italian. Pasta is cooked perfectly and the staff is fantastic. It 's everything you would want from an old school Italian meal
After living VERY close by for many years we finally ate here and I must say it was AMAZING everything we ordered was delicious. We had a wonderful Father's day dinner and the leftovers were even better the next day. This place is a winner in my book we WILL be eating here again as soon a as possible. Thank you for the wonderful food!
Absolutely amazing homemade Italian food! We had Maximo chicken, chicken parm, chicken Alfredo, snowballs and, brushetta! The homemade pasta was delicious!
Good garlic bread. Ok pizza. Nowhere near as good as New York pizza. My only complaint is that as soon as you pick up the slice, all the toppings and cheese slide right off the pizza!!!!!!! New York pizza doesn?t do that!!! If you?re a New Yorker and you know good pizza I would not recommend going here.
I think this restaurant has been around since before I was born and that is a LONG time. We simply had pizza for a business lunch. It was very good. If you like nostalgia, go to this little cozy place in Dunedin. The authentic Italian smells alone are worth it.
