One of the few places that has Anchovy as a topping! The pizza was generally good and the toppings were spread out carefully and neatly. (See photo). This location is never not busy, so expect a lot of chaos ordering at the counter or calling in by phone. The Dining Area is 40 years old, poorly lit, shabby and not a wipe-down priority for the front-end workers. But the outdated decor seems to be the trademark of the... View all feedback.
What Michelle Stuart doesn't like about Italian Pizzeria:
This has been a local favorite of mine since I was a little girl. I can't remember a time when I didn't have a love for Italian pizzeria. Came here during high school lunch and I still come here as an adult. I love the Philly cheese steak and just a regular cheese pizza. My absolute favorite is the cannoli and tiramisu they serve. The decorations are the same and have been the same for years it could use an update bu... View all feedback.
I just left from there and I purchased a cheesesteak hoagie with everything on it. I did not get that what I received was a cheesesteak hoagie with extra extra mayonnaise and that is it. I called up there and both women that are up there today just started laughing, I’ve went up there before and had hair in my food. I think I am going to start going to the one on Hillsboro Road because this one it is not getting it no more.
Great owner and food that makes pizza and Italian food seem like more! Service is always good... food is always served hot and without issue.
This place has been operating for 30+ years in the same Willowdale location, so I give it props for that feat of endurance. But that's about as far as I can go with praise.Eating here recently for the first time since 2019, I found the place to be pretty... meh. Cheesesteaks were dry and meat was poor quality. Pizza and fries were solid but nothing to go out of your way for.For years the knock on this place from members of my fam was that the staff was consistently unfriendly and that tradition continued on this visit. They weren't rude or anything like that; they just seemed to be going through the motions and apathetic about the fact that they were in the customer service business.I don't usually get too hung up on decor especially if the food's good but the place has really aged. We sat in the side room with a large group. The floors were scuffed and grimy like an old second run movie theater, and the lighting was dim but not in a way that you could credit it for ambiance. The same tired looking paintings that have been on the walls since the Gulf War era were still in place. The one flicker of personality was a sign on the self serve soda dispenser that warned customers that if they used a water cup to drink soda that was STEALING!Classy. There are better places out there than this to get a C grade Philly cheesesteak.
This Italian pizzeria serves some of the most delicious and authentic pizza I've ever tasted. The crust is crispy, the sauce is flavorful, and the toppings are fresh and plentiful. Highly recommend!

The Dining Area is 40 years old, poorly lit, shabby and not a wipe-down priority for the front-end workers. But the outdated decor seems to be the trademark of the entire Italian Pizzeria chain in Durham and Chapel Hill. As long as the food is good and the Health Dept score is respectable, do not hesitate to order from here.
