"Kenny and Barbara are brilliant! We arrived exhausted and they where just lovely and welcoming. We felt like they really care about every guest. Even when we forgot something kenny drove after us to get it back! Food drinks: Great vegan options for both dinner and breakfast! "This place is in hippie craft village balnakeil and is very popular. they have 5 different types of vegan chocolates and offer oats and soy milk for chocolate milk. also has vegan organic chocolate in the shop. everything was very tasty, but I would recommend sharing chocolate milk because this is very heavy. very friendly staff."

"Special on the menu board was oven baked smoked salmon/salad /brown bread as a starter £11.50 asked if I could have as a main bar staff said yes not a problem so ordered my meal , when it arrived the salmon was stone cold , I had expected hot oven baked salmon, I sent it back was asked if I wanted it heated up but it was already really over cooked so opted for a different meal which was tasty enough, when we got bill we had been charged £23 for salmon I had sent back because it was not as advertised , i got told by bar staff smoked salmon was served cold and basically not there problem I didn’t like it that way , the place was busy and I was embarrassed so didn’t argue the point that the board said oven baked smoked salmon, really dissatisfied disappointed in the customer service we received, we visited Durness every year but sadly we will never go back to the smoo cave hotel"

"Wow! What a gem! In 6 weeks of traveling Ireland and Scotland, this was probably one of the best meals of our trip. We try to seek out the best/finest dining in whatever town we're in, and this was spot on. The vegetarian starter was amazing it truly looked like smoked salmon, and the pickling on the carrot shavings gave it amazing taste. We are hard core carnivores, and we loved it. My venison main was so tender and complemented beautifully by the sauce and roasted vegetables. My husband's rack of lamb was beautifully cooked and very flavorful. We don't usually get desserts, but we treated ourselves here, and were very happy we did. The chocolate one is difficult to describe, but gorgeously rich in taste, and the rhubarb ice cream with crumble was also tasty. Service is amazing, given there is only 1 guy for the whole dining room, but he did everything well and promptly. They don't have a liquor license, so bring your own (no corkage fee). They ABSOLUTELY require reservations."

"We were mid doing the NC500 Route 66 and popped in here for a lovely meal. Really enjoyed the food. It was clearly freshly made. We had macaroni, lasagne and the best steak pie we’ve ever tried! Would highly recommend. Only thing that could’ve improved was the choice of wine! Haha! Weegies for you eh- got to think of the booze! But overall would definitely stop in for a meal again if I was near by!"

"Wow this place is fantastic, although we went to september, I find nothing bad to say about the place. beautiful view, beaches and surroundings. we were 5 nights in our caravan and I would say that this is one of the best places we have stayed. all, please come and visit them, it is magical."
