"Read the fantastic reviews, however was sadly disappointed, the fish was average, the chips.... crinkle cut and almost over cooked, the squid at $1 a piece was less than 20 mm bits, the oysters were so overcooked they were dry and chewy. I expected so much more than this for a seaside fish n chip shop."

"Absolutely the best meal we have had in years. We took advantage of the voucher in the entertainment book and thought we would try it out. Without a doubt, the best decision we have made. The beef and venison were to die for, and the service was first class. I want to go back tomorrow, but might have to wait a week. We will definitely be regulars from now on. "We had breakfast at the Bully Hayes. It was recommended to us by the lady who works at the L’Escargot Rouge. Everything was amazing, the food, the service, everything. The portion sizes were good as well. Will definitely recommend it to everyone and we will definitely eat here again."

"We are local and decided to book and wander to this wonderful eating place ,which is lucky enough to have one of the best locations in Akaroa ,we were not disapointed,the service and ambiance was much improved since we last visited and the food was divine ,we were not hurried,drinks arrived promptly and were refilled . A really lovely evening ,on a great night ,we will be back ."
