Poor service limited choice should have remained a pub. Totally spoilt.
Always love this place try for yourself cafe and restaurant
20/5/21 Had take away fish and chips with peas chips,tartare sauce and a drink=£8.50 absolutely gorgeous. Would recommend.
Handcycling past and had to stop by had a Ploughman's lunch and it was amazing and had a nice pint aswel Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"Yesterday night here. what a nice place to stay. rooms were beautifully decorated and had a luxurious feeling. a beautiful note were the freshly baked biscuits all pre-conceived enveloped. they were delicious. also enjoyed browsing through the cook very own cookbook, which was also in the room. the meal was first-class quality all made from local products and although the restaurant was busy workers were attentive and made the entire experience here to stay very special. the breakfast was also great with a large menu choice all freshly cooked to order no buffet style.) we will definitely be back"

"This restaurant has closed last month, I found out only by opening for my booking. The restaurant has not informed me before and I still received memories from Open Table, they even have sandwich boards that advertise the restaurant at the end of the street! A waste of time and taxi."

"We visited mid-week and decided this would be a comfortable place to visit again. We went without booking hoping to eat on a Friday evening. We had a table by the log fire and enjoyed an excellent meal in an easy-going atmosphere. The pub was...busy with drinkers with some tables reserved. The staff were polite, helpful and attentive. We fully recommend this pub for its service and food quality."

"We had this on our list to visit during our weekend in York and it didn't disappoint! We made the mistake of ordering a small mac and cheese and a large katsu fries to share between two of us... The chap in the van didn't look surprised when we asked for a take away bag when we were defeated Delicious food, HUGE portions, get there early"
