I was today in Rendezvous for the first time in a while; used to be a more frequent customer. Glad to report: it's still great. Lovely staff, the boss and her young assistants. They are supposed to get an omelet, they just told me scrambled eggs. Asked for a mozarella tomato sandwich and got it with salami in it, even though it said no salami on the menu, as a vegetarian, not happy at all. "This was in times past a little gem in Ayr a perfect place for that romantic night where you could have a beautiful night but sadly our latest experience told a very different story, A table of four sitting right next to us shouted, screamed and used very foul language all night. When they left several tables were glad to see the back of them. I mentioned to the manager that I was disappointed they didn't have a word asking them to keep it down. The manager said they didn't hear anything which I don't believe as they place really isn't that big. It ruined out night and we regret going which should not be how you should feel when going out. Its really disappointing and we would think twice about going back if this is the type of customers they want to attract"

"I really would have liked to give this a five star especially for the food but one or two things let this down. Firstly the waitress forgot to bring the tonic for my husbands gin and tonic and we had to ask no ice or slice either. Secondly we picked a bottle of wine which they then told us they didn't have and offered an alternative (same type) but told us it was dearer. This was not brought until after the starters. And finally the bill came on a post it note with no itemisation and when I asked for an itemised bill they brought several post it notes with the starter, drinks, main meal and it all added up to few pounds cheaper than the initial post-it note. I had been warned about this by a colleague so I did expect it but never the less the total was wrong. I did not even get an apology for getting the bill wrong. They looked at me as if I had a cheek to ask. However this was front of house and I am awarding the stars for the food alone."
