This (obviously Japanese place was a hoot! Very festive crowd at the hibachi tables tonite howling, laughing celebrating something!! Two of us sat in a private tatami room. (You dine in your own little room, sit on pillows and open and close the sliding, rice paper doors to your own liking. ESPECIALLY GREAT IF YOU 'RE ON A ROMANTIC DATE AND WANT PRIVACY!! My family and friends love Tai Show North! We are so sad they are closing : My family orders from here at least twice a month and we always have had a great time eating in one of those cute screened booths. The staff is so friendly whether we are just picking up or dining there and food is always fresh and excellent! Really hoping you open in a new location!! Food: 5

I tried Tai Show North after searching for sushi lunch specials near Port Jeff. When I arrived the restaurant was empty but someone came out from the back to give me my order. I got the 2 Roll Lunch Special was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I got a tuna avocado roll, alaska roll miso soup. The soup portion was larger than other local sushi restaurants give for lunch special, the rolls were a decent size, and the fish was fresh delicious. It's a great deal great quality!
The restaurant lacked staff for hibachi service, and the interior appeared worn and uninviting. Overall, I would rate the food a 1, the service a 1, and the atmosphere a 1.
