"Fantastic and consistent quality, friendly service. The only thing that lets this place down is the fine details. Menu's dropping to bits and the same with the table mats. Just this attention to detail would make dining here a spot on experience. I'm not really picking flies but it's just the icing on the cake. Not a criticism, just an observation. "Dinner. Tapas fine dining evening. It's one of Ashbournes' premier restaurants. Located in Boylestone, a lovely little village just off the A50. On arrival, you are seated in the cosy bar area for a pre-dinner drink. A Sangria was the obvious choice. You are then shown through to the dining room. Barn, like with its exposed brick and high rafters, which is spacious and airy. Our table was facing the open kitchen where we could watch the chef and his team in action. As well as their seasonal tasting menus, they do some themed evenings. On our visit, it was the Tapas Menu. Snacks BBQ Picanto,feta/ Israeli cous cous. Manchogo Jambon Croquette Chorizo. Loligo squid Tompura,saffron aioli/ anchovy oil. Gambas Pil Pil House Focaccia,tomato/ anchovy Hand Dived Orkney Scallop,Squid Ink Paella Iberico Pork Chop,black olive Hasselback potato bravas Salad of fennel/ orange/ citrus. Poached Clementine,lemon sorbet. Pastel De Nata,almond ice cream Petit Pours Service is attentive but not intrusive. The food and ingredients are of the highest quality. For a relaxed informal evening with music in the background, you'll be hard pushed to find better."

"Rang for a table told they will reserve 1 for me and my family, which was obviously denied at arrival. Training issues definitely, boast a big seating area however barely fit more than 10 tables. After 2 hours waiting we got seated annoyed and angry at some bold ex gangster claiming to be the owner (due to his behaviour), was very very rude. I WILL NEVER GO HERE AGAIN. Then my family was sat with children all I could here is the f word amongst staff. Clearly novices. Food was good but definitely average. Never going again!! Can't charge RITZ prices and deliver McDonald's service."

"A month ago we had a brunch here. Some of us had the bubble and squeak. Our friends had eaten the same dish there before and they said it was very different. I wouldn't have described it as a bubble and squeak. It was super dry almost as dehydrated. There were several cake options. It's a beautiful environment. Could be more vegan options. Will try again in the future."
