The special was great and a good amount of food. The only problem is the waitress should wash her hands after sweeping the floor. Found that disgusting. Order the $7 haddock special on Sunday and Monday. The vinegar coleslaw tasted great. The amount of fish and fries you get reminds me of when you go to the US and the portions they serve View all feedback.

To be honest the halibut house on the danforth avenue is not the best place to get fish and chips in the opposite. there are some other local places that serve as good or better who come to think. that said it's still worth it. and we've been doing this since he opened up. be part of a chain of several in the gta and has this fast food chain look, almost sterile cleaning over it. as I said, we have been eating here for a few years, not all the time, but now and then. They usually take fish and chips, including tonight, just before I write this, but also now and then eat. mainly at the weekends when they have a classic egg, speck, houseries and toast breakfast special until 2:00 clock. the mainstay on their menu is of course fish, usually broken and with chips or fires. several species of white fishing are available to cod, healed and squid often with different specials during the week. eating is fresh and quite tasty, but the main sights are the portions. to call them generous would be an understatement. in that we find in the rule that a two-part order of fishing and chips is more than enough to share the two of us. prices are more or less competitive with similar locations around. the service is fast, especially for ordering. it is about a 5 minute drive for us from home and call them the order in just before we leave in the sure that it is ready when we are there or at most after a few minutes. sometimes they don't feel like cooking and therefore the number of this place is stored on my handy.
I visited this restaurant three times this week with my wife, even though we live about ten miles away in Yonge and Eglinton. The ingredients were top quality and the portions were generous. I had the halibut and chips three times, opting for the double fish option. Everything was delicious, from the fish to the chips to the coleslaw. The fish tasted incredibly fresh, as if it had just been caught. The staff were very respectful and friendly, treating us like old friends. These were the best fish and chips I have ever had in my life, and I am turning 65 today. The fish was so delicious and generously portioned, it was truly a feast for the eyes. I affectionately refer to the fish as my "golden beauty." The washrooms were easily accessible, and on the same floor, which was convenient for me as I am disabled. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that I highly recommend.
This restaurant offers excellent value with a Sunday and Monday special priced at $8, making it a great deal for their squid dish with generous portion sizes. They also have affordable breakfast options available.
I have visited this restaurant ten times in the last year and a half, and it is not my favorite fish and chip restaurant in the East Danforth area. They serve generous portions that satisfy most customers. I enjoy their fish and chips, and you can substitute salad for a small additional charge. The desserts are quite good, especially the cheesecake with many options to choose from. The Halibut House has a nice special area for senior citizens on Sundays, making it a popular choice for the older crowd in the neighborhood.

Best thing about their coffee is it's kind of abundant as after my first cup the waiter girl refilled it and eventually I had four cups.
