we dived here after a walk through the harbour. we sat immediately and the staff was very attentive. my man chose the chicken keres and one side of the wobble rings (extremely delicious) and I had the chicken soar salad that was very pleasant. the portions were very good. the only thing that puts this place down were the toilets. they could really have booked with a Re-Vamp we have booked to go back, as eating was so... The interior of the restaurant looks worn out and could use some updating and cleaning (we even noticed exposed electrical wires near our table). The staff, for the most part, are friendly and attentive, except for one older man who seems to be the owner or manager. He comes across as rude and treats customers as if they are a bother, which is disappointing. The coffee and cake were delicious, but unfortunately, we won't be rushing back anytime soon. Despite living in this area for 5 years and dining here multiple times, the presence of this particular individual consistently ruins the overall dining experience.
We have been here many times, and always enjoyed it. The food we had yesterday was nice, but way too much green leaves on the plate. Serving staff were lovely as always. The owner looks like he needs a good wash shave, and doesn't care about himself, the staff, the restaurant, or the customer! The restaurant itself is in need of decoration and modernisation. Although clean, the toilets are in poor condition, and not easy to access, as limited space. This is a lovely location, with tons of free parking, and could be a little gold mine! Please don't let this restaurant fail, take steps to make it what it was, and can be, a great place to eat and relax.
I have been living in Eastbourne for years and normally go to a café located in the harbour called de leitos. However, it was closed so we decided to go to 4 Seasons. The last time we went, we found the staff to be rude and this visit confirmed why we hadn't returned. As soon as we walked in and sat down at a spare seat, a miserable old man rudely told us we should have waited to be seated and pointed out a sign we apparently missed. We decided to leave as the customer service was shocking. Do not recommend this place at all.
The food at this restaurant was of poor quality. When we discreetly pointed out that we were given incorrect dietary advice (which could be harmful), the manager rudely told us not to return. We will happily take that advice.
My wife and I have had coffee there perhaps 3 or 4 times a week and occasionally something to eat. The staff have all been very friendly with the exception of, I assume, the owner who has always given the impression of misery, but, today, however, he took it to an entirely new level. We arrived at 2.55 and wished to sit in the more comfortable seating as my wife suffers from a bad back. Despite the fact that many tables were free, we were brusquely told we couldn’t as they were for lunches and when asked why as many tables were available, we were told “take it or leave it” and he simply walked off, by which time it was 3.00 Never had such an experience before, ever, anywhere!
