While some customers praised the quality of the food and service, others were disappointed by the outdated ambiance and poor service. Complaints ranged from slow service and mediocre food to forgotten orders and uncoordinated staff. Despite some shortcomings, the restaurant received praise for its vegan and vegetarian options, reliable service, superb breakfast, and lovely afternoon tea. Overall, the establishment seems to have potential but mixed reviews indicate both room for improvement and areas where they excel.
A whole vegan menu! really delicious food, which is also cheap. vegan biscoff tiffin was a special favorite!
Beautiful veggie English breakfast. good coffee and excellent vegan options. w friendly, including to our dog companion, who was pleasantly surprised about their complementary contract!
We visited breakfast, there is a good menu choice and a separate vegan menu that is in the window and they can ask for a kopie. eating was tasty, the vegan breakfast was a nice change with the roasted veg included. coffee was also nice. I found a hair on my toast that I did not mention, but made me warn on the rest of my toast. a pleasant place to the breakfast!
After being rudely spoken to by a member of staff at the Chopping Block, the Narrowbar won our custom. Very pleasant staff, coffee and cakes were lovely.
The most amazing cafe in the whole of the Lake District! And such great vegan options! We got the vegetable wrap with homemade hummus and let me tell you that salad was sensational : The way they cut that cucumber was so inventive even my sister was happy and she usually wouldn't even eat cucumber! The sweet potato was cooked beautifully : We tried to recreate the wrap at home and honestly it was not the same : The staff were amazing and welcoming and the takeaway packaging was environmentally friendly. I've been thinking about that wrap ever since and I'm so sad that I live so far away in London but when I'm back in Penrith, I'll be there for my wrap ;
