tried out a few Indian takeouts when I moved to Edinburgh and decided this was my favourite. Such friendly staff, amazing food, lot's of vegan/veggie options. Convenient collection but most of all amazing food!! View all feedback.
What Edward Smith doesn't like about Tikka Masala:
Absolutely awful service, promised our reasonably big order would be delivered in approx 45 minutes, after 1 hour and 15 minutes I phoned to check when we could expect order to be told it was on it's way, after another 30 minutes I phoned again to be told the same thing and we are just 15 mins away. Order arrived 2 hours after placing it, would only take £5 off for inconvenience!!! On checking food some of it was col... View all feedback.
I ordered a takeaway from here and was very impressed with the quality of the curry. I had the chicken bhuna and my boyfriend had a dupiaza. We both love Indian and Bangladeshi food and we both thought it was the best takeaway we had had in Edinburgh and it was very reasonably priced too. Also the man in the shop was very friendly when I went to pick the food up always nice to get service with a smile!
I placed an order for delivery at 8:49pm last night. I was told it would arrive at 9:35pm. The restaurant then changed the time to 10:05pm. Let’s be realistic, an hour and fifteen minutes on a Monday night is ludicrous. However, my order didn’t arrive till 10:35pm! I called the restaurant twice to ask where my order was. At 10:15pm I was told that the driver wouldn’t pick up but that they were sure he was on his way then at 10:30pm I was told that he’d just left with my order. The first time I called the restaurant clearly knew that the driver did not have my order therefore when I called back I complained. My complaint was simple, I said that an order taking an hour and forty-five minutes was unacceptable and that being half an hour late when an order has taken that long is simply disgusting. I asked for a refund for the lateness and poor customer service but was denied one. I was told if I wanted my money back I’d have to contact Just Eat. The staff were rude and dismissive. They saw no issue with the situation. When my food finally arrived my popadoms were chewy, my chips were cold and soggy and both curries were only warm. I am genuinely horrified by how poor the service and quality was.
Ordered from this place and surprisingly the samosa was so good. I was hoping to eat this kind of Samosa in Edinburgh. The paneer lababdar was tasty, but the nan was very average. Will surely order again. Thanks!
My friends and I arrived here with the intent on a simple order, though the lights were off and the shop appeared closed. We proceeded to enter the front door which happened to be open, to be greeted with tacky, Indian music, in a small, dingy reception. Eventually, what we assumed to be the chef, due to his clothing, greeted us and went on to take our order... I ordered a chicken pasanda, with coconut rice and a peshwari naan. Understandably, we were told there would be a 30 wait or so... Upon our return, we were told simply to ‘sit down’ and within 5 minutes, we were delivered our order. Our return home was disappointing. As we dug into out short awaited curry, we realised that nothing was as expected. The coconut rice tasted like basmati with salt and pepper. The pasanda tasted like salt, cream and a slight taste of almonds. And the peshwari naan was about average. Wouldn’t be surprised if it was ordered in, given the rest of the experience. Avoid, if possible.
