Eight of us went to the German Club Restaurant to celebrate the Birthday of two long time friends. We started with the Salad, which was very fresh, the Buffett was good and there was plenty of dessert to choose from. The Service was excellent, very attentive. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about German Canadian Cultural Association:
The restaurant is informal and appears to be more geared toward all the community groups that use the facility as a dinner meeting place. Ive been here a few times and the restaurant is always empty but the meeting rooms are full. The buffet is therefore popular. Food is good and plentiful. Pretty basic place and food is just 'simply good' overall. Prices are reasonable. It's the perfect place for a group dinner meet... View all feedback.
At a wedding reception we held there in November 2018, we were very satisfied with the buffet buffet (big selection, very delicious). Many of our guests commented how good the food was.
We come here every Saturday for lunch. We order from the menu. They do buffets as well but the buffets are only in the evening and we eat our main meal at lunch time. The only time they're open for lunch is on Saturdays. There are lots of different schnitzels on the menu, but there is other German food as well. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Went for dinner thinking we would have fantastic German food, well, it sucked. The spaetzle was reheated and fried, the schnitzel was dry and overcooked
Great german food and buffet.. price is good and you can have a function if you want.. only on weekends but recommend
I wrote my last review of this place almost a year ago. They lost their cook at the end of September or chef as he liked to call himself. The quality of the food has slipped a bit since they got a new cook. We complained about the quality of the food, but it seems they 're not inclined to take us seriously. They think the complaints are all a game. I agree that my father can overdo it a bit with the complaining at times, but in this case, I have to agree with him. The food is really not German food. The red cabbage is blah, the potato pancakes are refried hash browns, and the whipped cream on the Ruedesheimer coffee was curdly. We were told that this restaurant is not for profit and we can 't expect quality from the food. Hmmm my kitchen at home is also not for profit , but I still cook high quality meals. Once in a while I like to get out of my kitchen and let someone else do the cooking. When I do, I expect a high quality meal without the excuses. This restaurant isn 't exactly cheap despite calling itself not for profit . Three of us spent close to $70 on our meals, including taxes and tip. We ordered potato pancakes which we didn 't like and they took the cost of the pancakes off the bill, otherwise we 'd have had to pay closer to $80. This restaurant is good for lunch, but only on Saturdays. It 's dinner only from Tuesday to Friday. They serve dinner on Saturdays as well.
