Mpakalógatos - Egina

Very good choice for appetizers in Aegina. We got spicy mushrooms (excellent wine meze), zucchini meatballs (delicious and quite sweet because of the carrot they had), chicken nest (delicious and quite spicy with a paprika flavor), fennel pie, fava beans with caramelized onions (good but nothing special) half a kilo of white wine . One of the very nice tavernas in Aegina. It has everything. Amazing dishes, nice wine, nice music and all this in an old detached house with a courtyard. P. C. I was impressed by the huge cactus in the yard (80 years old). This was a let down by far. The portion sizes were small for the prices paid and if we wouldn't have ordered extra bread (which came without any butter/oil), we would have been hungry. Also, the atmosphere was a let down (although it was nearly empty it felt hollow) and service was non existent. Nonetheless, one of the disappointment during our Greece trip.
