We were there with our family on the evening of 24th October. We had not reserved a table. In spite of that we were given a friendly welcome. We were attended to immediately. The service was very good. They even offered to give us the...Menu both in English and German. The waiter spoke English, German and Italian. The quality of the food was excellent. I would recommend this Restaurant to all. Well done to the owners... View all feedback.
What Gilbert Wegner doesn't like about Trattoria la Grappa:
Firstly, the food was quite good. I had spaghetti with seafood which came with a generous amount of calamari, prawns etc. However, I was unhappy with the fact that as a solo customer, I was seated outside of the main room of the restaurant when...there were clearly tables available. It felt a bit isolating and did not make me feel valued as a customer. I had to wait a long time to order, nobody enquired if everything... View all feedback.
We had dinner last night in this trattoria, and as a Italian living in the Uk, I was pleased to find genuine Italian staff in this not so famous corner of Germany! The meal was good but not excellent, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere.
Ive been there for diner.. Was quiet long to have the menu.. Then just noticed that.. Women were just served faster than me.. Even for dessert request... With 3 waiters.. Its kinda.. Weird... ;¬).. Enjoy ur meal...
Try to make a reservation beforehand. We were lucky that a no-show reservation table was available. Saturdays in the summer is pretty busy. Sat on the outdoor patio and had a delicious dinner here. Started off with a mixed salad and the an oven roasted gnocchi with salmon and white cream cheese sauce. Hubby had a mozzarella tomatoe salad and a pizza.Nice friendly waiters. All spoke some English. Price was good. €45.
We had only one evening in Eisenach and wanted to make the most of the light to have a wander around but the service here was so slow. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks to arrive and then another 15 minutes for our soup. We should really have had only one course because then we could have avoided another wait of 25 minutes. It was difficult to catch the waiter's eye to ask for things to be speeded up. When we asked for the bill, we were told to "take it easy". You could go to this restaurant only with somebody you know pretty well as the tables are quite small and our knees were knocking under the table! When the food did arrive, it was tasty.
In an early-to-bed town, it was nice to encounter a lively, sometimes noisy outdoor Italian Trattoria that served a full menu until 10:00. The choice of food and wine was broad, and the waiter was happy to help. It was an overall fun experience I'd be happy to repeat.
