Some customers have had mixed experiences, with complaints about portion sizes and quality of some dishes, while others have praised the atmosphere, service, and specific items like the shrimp cocktail and fajitas. The restaurant is known for its festive environment, complete with live music and holiday decorations. Overall, it seems to be a hit or miss for some customers, but it's definitely a spot worth checking out for those looking for a lively Mexican dining experience.
I don't know how I haven't reviewed this location in prior years, but this was one of the first restaurants I ever went to a decade ago upon my first visit...
Carlos and Mickey's, what can I say that hasn't already been said? It's an institution in El Paso and now I understand why. I recently visited the...

1st time here, we ran in for lunch. Loved the atmosphere, and the whole place smelled delicious. The chips and salsa they put on the table...you can see from the picture, the Chips were as big as my hand...and very good. I had the nachos...appetizer and it was huge. Couldn't eat the whole thing. The food was great, the service was fast and friendly. Will totally go back there again while I'm in town for the next 3 months.
They were busy, which means they are a popular place. I had to wait almost 45 minutes for a table. The waitress was very nice and attentive. The Margarita was wonderful. Queso was okay, not great. I ordered steak and chicken fajitas, and they were good. I prefer my veggies a little more done but otherwise very tasty. On to desert, the flan was okay, not the best I've ever had, crusty on bottom and very bland. All in all it was a good place to eat and the service was great. I was alone and spent $50 on a full course; this is a little expensive in my taste, especially for fair quality. I would not go again.
