During our 3 day visit, we ate at 1863 every night. Why did we return? The staff is courteous and welcoming. The menu choices are so individualy unique that we had to try more than one. The prices are very reasonable. 1863 is locally owned, a feature that is important to us at home and on the road. Consider 1863 to be your first choice in Elkins, WV. View all feedback.
What Dissappointing doesn't like about The 1863 Appalachian Bistro:
Staff was nice but ....... The noise level was excessive throughout our visit. The waitress was new and not very accommodating. She left the bill/check in middle of table in the middle of our meal while we were still eating. We wanted coffee and was advised WE COULD GET IT OURSELVES. You can also enjoy meals and drinks at the counter of the place, If you intend to show up with a larger gathering, there is a spacious dining hall. If the weather conditions are right, you can also have something to eat outside, and there is a dining room with chairs/tables. For private events, a private area can be used undisturbed.
