What Michael M likes about Gasthaus Föhrenhof:
Not being too hungry and it was also late we decided to share a dish Spetzle with mushrooms which was very tasty. The lady owner was welcoming and friendly but the waiter treated us without respect. Apparently one dish and two glasses of wine were not worth his efforts. It is a pity as otherwise the place was well appointed and we would have returned again during our stay in Ellmau. I had booked by phone but they didn’t have my reservation. I had a table right at the entrance. Windy. Noisy. No cutlery like others. Pffff

"On our last day in Oberau we ventured up to this place, used to be easily accessible when the old T-bar lift was working, now it is quite a steep walk. The outside of the building does not convey the charm of the interior. Well worth the walk, but beware if the flag is not flying it may not be open."
