We all enjoyed our food at the Wheatsheaf, and the wild mushroom and chicken satay starters were particular favourites, together with the gnocchi main. The chcken pie main (a special) was also very good, but both people who had this said the beef gravy that came with it, already dished up on the plate, wasn't quite right with chicken and was also extremely salty. We have been going to this pub for many years and always enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and drink but went there today outside temperature freezing) and were disappointed to find that despite the pub being pretty full the interior temperature was cold the fire wasn’t lit and the radiators were cold . 10/10 for a superb lunch, Gabby our waitress was fantastic and was the best waitress we have had for a long time. Would visit again, just for Gabby.
Friendly pub with a busy Sunday lunch trade. Good traditional fare served by pleasant attentive staff very efficiently. Will return soon
