Life's A Slice from Elmvale Menu

"I don't usually write reviews, however felt the need to write this due to how unimpressed I was with the whole experience at this restaurant. The restaurant looks like a dive from the outside, very unkept and looks like it needs a lot of renovations, however we saw past that and were very optimistic about the interior, food and service. We were greeted by an older lady who was rough around the edges and again, we kept an open mind. The menu was scarce and doesn't offer a lot of variety, especially if you are a vegetarian or have certain diet restrictions. When we asked the server about what she would recommend, she just laughed and said everything was good! We order a couple of appetizers, the Brie and mussels to share. The brie was layered with syrup (tasted terrible) and the mussels had no sauce/flavor and were chewy to the point where I spat mine out on a napkin and we left the rest untouched. I ordered the gnocchi which tasted like raw flour and had no other taste to it. I almost gagged when I took a mouthful. My friend ordered the fish which was slimy in the middle absolutely gross. My husband and other friend both had the steak which again had no seasoning. Non of our food was seasoned, it's as if they don't know how to season food (not even a pinch of salt or pepper on any of the dishes), we all had to ask for additional seasoning. In the end, we ended up barely touching anything and left. The server never once asked us how the food was or even mentioned anything when she carried back all of the food that had tiny pieces cut out of them. I will never ever go back there again. Waste of time and money. If you like your food to taste good, don't go!!"

"The food here is all right for traditional Indian cuisine. Tried to stay close to home one evening so we tried it out. Some prices are a bit steep for the portions you get but only on certain dishes. Flavours were great and staff was friendly. Atmosphere is grimey to me but it works."
