I tried several non-dairy milk options for my coffee and was delighted by the delicious pastries available at the various NT locations. However, I was disappointed that the only vegan dessert option was a fruit turnover, which is why I am deducting a star for the limited choices. The restaurant itself was clean, cozy, and inviting. What Rachel Ann doesn't like about The Docky Hut:
The restaurant now offers various tasty vegan options on their menu, such as freshly baked vegan pasties, jacket potatoes, hot vegan sausage sandwiches, and cakes. They also have vegan coleslaw available. We love coming here frequently to enjoy the delicious food and taking a leisurely walk around the national trust site afterwards. View all feedback.
The Docky Hut is a charming and convenient spot for a light lunch, cake, or hot beverage after exploring Wicken Fen Nature Reserve. The cafe is accessible for wheelchairs and allows dogs inside when ordering, but guests must sit outside afterwards. Picnic benches and water bowls are provided. Although the vegan sandwich options were sold out by 1pm (please make more!), I enjoyed a delicious parsnip and apple soup with a coffee. I received a discount on my drink for using my own reusable cup. My companions had a vegan baked potato with beans and a coconut milk curry, which does not include rice. The soup and curry portions were served in mugs and didn't quite fill us up after a morning of walking, but held us over until our next meal. The neighboring table had vegan pasties that appeared more substantial. I will definitely return to The Docky Hut, perhaps just for coffee unless they have the vegan sandwiches available.

There is a variety of non-dairy milk options for coffee at this restaurant, and the pastries are fantastic at all of their locations in the Northern Territory. However, the only vegan dessert option available was flapjack, which was disappointing and caused me to deduct a star for the limited choices. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and has a welcoming atmosphere.
The Doktor Hat is a charming and cozy place to stop by for a light lunch, dessert, or a warm drink after exploring the nearby nature reserve. The café is wheelchair accessible and allows customers to bring their dogs inside while they place their order, but they must sit outside afterward. There are picnic benches and water bowls available for pets. Unfortunately, the vegan sandwich options were sold out by 1 pm, so I opted for a parsnip and apple soup with a coffee. I received a discount of 25p for using my own reusable cup. The rest of my group ordered a vegan baked potato with beans and a coconut milk curry, which did not come with rice. The soup and curry portions were served in bowls, which didn't fully satisfy our hunger after a morning of walking, but it bought us enough time until our next meal. The table next to us had vegan pastries that looked more filling, so we may return for those in the future, but possibly just for a coffee unless they restock the vegan sandwich options.
I love that they offer milk alternatives for coffee at this restaurant. Their pastries are delicious and they have multiple locations around the Northern Territory. The only downside was that the only vegan dessert option was a jacket potato, so I took off a star for the limited choices. The restaurant is clean, cozy, and inviting.
