that is an absolute gem of a country pubs. eating is simply super and if they ever leave here hungry they are extremely hard to please. every time they want to dive, they always find a friendly smile. "If you want casual, relaxed, and super friendly then the Royal Oak is your pub. It 's in a beaut position right in Central Ballarat but far away enough from the main drag to allow it to rightfully claim its local status to us who live within stones throw away. For people unlucky enough to be able to stumble home, there 's ample parking. The best thing about this pub is the staff. They are so welcoming and really make this pub a place to want to return to. I can 't speak to the extensive menu other than to say the chicken schnitzel I ordered was very good, gravy was delicious and I loved the addition of the bread roll very retro (and appreciated! . Actually the whole place was a little reminiscent of pubs in the 1980s, a charm of its own. No need to put on your Sunday best to come here. You can feel comfortable in whatever you 've had on for the day."
