"Booked some time ago online. Good job called in early on the day as booking not recorded. Needless to say accommodated, albeit half an hour later than planned. Maybe we should have phoned earlier to check. Very nice staff, and excellent fare throughout, without large helpings. Pleasant surroundings, without background music. Decent wine list at very reasonable prices. Sadly, the food prices have understandably gone up since last visited, but still well worth it for a quality experience."

"Great wee pub! Private snugs (little sitting rooms for my Canuck friends) from days gone by. Hard to find these old pubs. We didn't have food, so I couldn't rate that, but I'm sure it's wonderful. Paula forgot her handbag in the snug, and didn't realize until we walked for an hour. We made it back, and they had it, safe and sound, fully intact. Small town people with integrity! Thanks, folks!
