"Great surroundings, delicious food and drink in high quality. The place is nice, clean and incredibly cozy. First train a spontaneous trip in after coffee, hot chocolate and delicious cake. It was so good an experience that we jumped in again three hours later after a delicious lunch, we ordered a little different tapas, a salad and a sandwich and delicious refreshing rabarber lemonade. It's all beautiful and served on a unique boats, so as the homemade lemonade was served in a couple. We went away saturated and felt spoiled by the quality, we also bought some wine with home, which we got a good guide/anfaling in. Highly recommended."

"We enjoyed the best meal of Lemon Sole that we have ever eaten. Extremely fresh, cooked to perfection and served with ideal accompaniments. The service was also excellent. Our waiter had charm and enthusiasm and was very knowledgeable. He also spoke English, German as well as his native Danish. All in all a great place. Highly recommended but do book in advance to avoid disappointment."

"I had a three-course menu, and every course was equally excellent. Especially the roe-entre and 'Fish en Croute ' main course. Sitting at Fajancen the hours go so quickly, you feel embraced by the warm and rustic interior. Lovely! We go there every time we 're in Fanø, it never lets you down."

"Our third visit to this amazing hotel located in a thatched village on the island of Fanoe. Doesn 't actually take that long to drive across from Copenhagen and there are plenty of interesting stops on the way. It 's my belief that the food, which was always good, has got even better. Think there 's a new chef. The breakfasts are the highest quality smoked hams, the best salami I 've ever eaten, perfectly kept cheese and cooked eggs if you 've any room. But it 's the evening meals that surpass all expectations. We had the five course set menu which included the most perfectly cooked scallop and a tender piece of fallow deer, the perfect shade of pink. There 's no 'how would you like this cooked madam? ', they know their job. Without over egging the pudding the restaurant would easily attract two Michelin stars if located in a city. And you don 't feel bloated afterwards. The rooms are perfectly fine, not massive but as you 'd expect in an C18th cottage type building. Never really got to know anyone there as they 're always busy doing what they do best cooking and serving the food. A big attraction for us was the world class bird watching, especially during the migration season."
