During my stay in Essen I found out this wonderful plays in the city center . Well the food is as you will experience in Serbia or Croatia or Bosnia same taste same way to be served ! Prices are very reasonable . You...will get a sting from the house at the end ! Would recommend it ! Don’t miss it once in Essen and looking for a good restaurant in the center . View all feedback.
What Irmgard Friedrich doesn't like about Balkan-Hof:
This is a balkan-style restaurant serving mostly German food. The menu was not as adapated as the theme and name suggested. Was it a culinary experience? Not really. It was a schnitzel, and neither the worst nor the best I had. But the slivovice was served warm, and was delicious. Go there if you like slivovice. Otherwise - well, it's a place to eat. Not bad by any means, but nothing to write home about either. View all feedback.
Very good restaurant well located on one of the central roads of eating city. very easy to find it when they are part in the city central to foot. the owner was very friendly and the whole food was exellent. I had a very good dinner there. during my business trip to eat. my positive recommendations to all types of traveling.
Despite a tiny language problem we can start with, the dame here has found us menus in English and the things have just become better and better. the food options are numerous and varied and covered pescatarians and vegans. our first visit we enjoyed a skewer plate...for 2, which is made of 2 large metal kebab skewers with four different meat cooked perfectly, served on a bed roasted veg including capsicums, tweak, croquettes and was delicious! a free salatstarter is a beautiful note and that was also fresh and tasty. we have enjoyed 3 more visits, the other options like the türkei steaks, sirloin and something called lumberjack steak try, they even have a child menu with the best fishing fingers! other nice touches our dog was allowed to sit under our table and then after the meal a free apfelschnaps as digestive aid. the portion sizes are generous so that nothing to complain, easy to go and enjoy great food to realistic trips with excellent service with a smile.
This is a very popular restaurant, can be very busy. service was ok, it took a long time before someone took our order, but eating came quite fast. the portions are large, much meat, some of them good quality and well prepared. some of them chew and gristy. overall quite average.
In the center of eating is a beautiful and quiet restaurant. very good atmosphere, excellent service and without any doubt delicious home food that is so delicious that they want more and more. sljivovica (short Serbian aperitive) is perfect and strong. So if you eat delicious food and pleasant atmosphere please do not miss the chance to visit the Balkan farm.
