"Ok, I'm going to try to not be too harsh on this one. This is more a reflection probably on ownership than on the staff. The wait staff was good. I grew up around here, and so the review is more on the fact that it seemed nothing has been updated or changed for the past 20-25 years. The menu boards had items tacked to it on what wasn't available. Not a good first impression. The flow is set up for back in its hey days when the lines were wrapped around. Needs to be more open. The interior is literally a time capsule as well as the music/ambience. I think with all the updates in and around the shopping center that this building and setting would also be updated. Plus the food. Yeah, it was good like that 20 years ago, but it too also needs revamping. It wasn't the greatest tasting and the rolls were under cooked. Until something changes, we probably won't be back."

"Fast service. I went their twice for doordash, they had the orders ready fast. Food smelt so good, I went back and got me something to eat! Delicious food like it was made in heaven! Highly recommend Monterrey"

"I'm not much on barbecue but I found their ham is absolutely delicious and they have regular buns instead of the sickly sweet buns people are using nowadays. They have some good deals throughout the week and if you don't like barbecue you can have the sauce on the side or omitted. The ham is a must try though/no sauce. One of the few places that give you a full cob of corn as a side. The half chicken is quite tasty too. Other sides are regular barbecue joint staples... Potato salad etc. Usually order is fine but check accuracy of order before you leave if you use the drive-thru... Overall pretty decent."

"I literally go to cookout once sometimes more a day! I love their milkshakes! Their employees are friendly and they keep their restaurant clean. The drive-thru always has customers lined around the building, but the wait is usually no longer than 10 mins,and the food is almost always fresh."
