Our visitors on the central coast were impressed not only with the view over the water with the ferry, which is the usual route, but the friendly courtesy service with delicious meals. we were in a position to sit with our dog in a shadow and enjoy a very relaxing couple of hours. read more.

What User doesn't like about The Box On The Water:
The box has been so consistently good for us and we were excited to take our international guest for dinner. Unfortunately the menu has changed a lot and seemed to have very few options and certainly not up the high standard we have experienced in the past. The prawn dish was very poor and not good value. I hope they can look at the menu and get back to their winning ways. read more.

The current menu card may be expanded on site to include seasonal specialties and weekly recommendations. In addition to a variety of dishes, the card also offers a diversity of beverages and typical house dishes. "I thought I'd be put off by the large space and bright lights but instead I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, fresh and friendly my first impression was on entering the space felt immediately intimate and welcoming. I didn't expect the delightful thrill I got from the very first greeting from the tall bearded man wearing a beret his warmth professionalism melted any doubts I had about trying out this restaurant for the first time I now believe this is my most favourite restaurant on the Coast after tonight! (and it was mentioned it has been here for 4 years ...there is also a whisper that they will be bringing back music, bands and possibly a big band! The Chef Daniel, is a genius with the multi dimensioned taste texture sensations he created from the Entree to the Deserts (of which I had to have two different ones as I couldn't decide...there was more than one that excited me! not only that, whilst I don't drink, I was offered a surprise mocktail which was very unexpected and exotic. The staff each one of them that served us were so accessible and attentive to our requests were like gold as they contributed to the light buzzy atmopsphere and overall superb experience. The kitchen and bar open and on display were sparkly and made us feel so welcome and included. Thank you for being there and making our time with you tonight such a joyful experience!"

"I would describe the food here as refined modern Australian cuisine with a strong Turkish influence. We had a group bday dinner so was a few adults and kids of different ages. Everyone really enjoyed their meals, although not all were perfect still warrants a 5 star review. Food and service were very good."
