I did not grow up anywhere where these were popular, but a friend from the city of Chicago who thinks St. Louis/Ballwin is a dinky little city/suburb combo drove by with me and said, Wait? You guys have an Oberweis?? We pulled in and devoured delicious peanut butter milkshakes. "My family enjoyed all of their donuts. Everything starts with a round base cake donut that reminded us of funnel cake. Then you choose which toppings you want. Our favorites were the powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, and the maple bacon. Service was great, too."
